Abaya care: choosing a cleaning service
Read the care label, describe the fabric and embellishments, and agree on the treatment before booking.
By the Helixfa editorial team

The right cleaning method for an abaya depends on the garment, not simply its colour or name. Two similar-looking pieces may have different fabrics, linings or decorative details.
Start with the care label
Follow the garment manufacturer's care instructions. If the label is missing or difficult to read, ask the provider to assess the piece rather than choosing a treatment from appearance alone. The GINETEX care-label guide explains the role of care symbols.
Point out details that need attention
Mention embroidery, beads, attached trims, a separate belt and any existing damage. Share a clear photo of a stain and describe its cause if known. Do not assume every mark can be removed completely.
Agree on the service and quote
Ask whether the provider recommends washing, professional cleaning or another treatment compatible with the label. Confirm the price, collection arrangements and expected return time. Request approval before any additional work is carried out.
Check the garment on return
Review the piece and any accessories against your original request. Follow the provider's instructions for storage and further care. If something needs attention, contact them with the order details.
